universe out of whack

Since when did we get this ridiculous idea that the universe no longer revolves around the massive and every useful sun, but rather ourselves and our disproportionate egos? Don't know but it seriously has got to stop. What can be worse than getting into such a state of being that friends turn on friends simply because of inconsiderateness. True friends are supposed to stick closer than a brother, friends are supposed to be bonded together like someone hot glued them that way, there are supposed to be bonds forged so tightly that only death should be able to break them. And nothing can or should be able to take that away from true friends, nothing except themselves. It has come to my attention especially in this past year that we have all seemed to get so caught up in the "me, me, me" attitude that we are truly causing chaos in our lives. I know I some times get so caught up in feeling ignored and useless for such ridiculous reasons that a huge pity party gets going in my head to the point where even I realize that I am being stupid. But unfortunately there are just not always pity-party-crashers when you need one. A true friend whips you right out of a phase like that, can either talk you through it or simply do something completely spontaneous that just shocks you back to the reality that there are other people on the planet. But how does the dreaded party-of-one even start? Sometimes you just get irritated - plain and simple. Sometimes it bis even completely justified. And sometimes we are not even being ridiculous when we get upset. It just depends on the situation. Maybe it is a friend who has just been acting so self-centered and rude lately that you just think that the friendship can't possibly be worth it. Plenty of times friends do goof up and are intolerably annoying to the point where jumping off a cliff sounds like a really good idea (and I'm not talking about with a parachute or glider). We could just feel like we are being used and are tired of it and want to think that our friends like us for than than what we can offer them, for more than what we have at our disposal. No matter what the reason is, we do regularly seem to get into slumps, and it is at these times that we really need to focus and think about things - especially before you make an idiot out of yourself in front of all your friends by acting like a pouting child for silly reasons. In these times we have to step back and think about whether this person making you miserable is a true friend. If they are and you would take a bullet for them then clear the mess up pronto before it becomes an irreparable situation. If being chased by a pack of ravenous hyenas sounds more appealing than spending another minute with them it might be time to think about finding a new person to spend your time with. But either way, what it all comes down to in the end is that we need to quit putting the spotlight on ourselves and expecting everything to revolve around our wants and needs - cause a world like that is completely quacked up.
